OUR CORE BELIEFS

THE BIBLE

We follow the teachings of the Bible, God's holy word, and regard it as the only source to find doctrine. It is sufficiently simple to convey its message to any genuine believer. The Bible presents a straightforward blueprint for the church.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
II Timothy 2:15

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1

BAPTISM

The apostle Paul describes baptism as a burial and resurrection. Coming from the Greek word, baptizo, which means to dip, immerse, or to plunge, baptism is so important simply because Jesus commanded us to do it.

Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we will certainly also be united with Him in a resurrection like His.
Romans 6:3-5

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20

COMMUNION

According to the Bible, we partake in communion in remembrance of the body and blood of Jesus that was broken and poured at the cross. It not only reminds us of His suffering, but shows the true amount of love Jesus had for us.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is My body." Then He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Matthew 26:26-28

"For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
John 6:33

SALVATION

The process of salvation includes six very important steps.

1. One must be properly taught and hear the word of God.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Romans 10:14-17

2. One must believe and have faith.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:16

3. One must repent and turn away from their former life and choose God's way.

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.
Acts 17:30

4. One must confess the belief that Jesus is the Son of the living God.

As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?" Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." The eunuch answered, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
Acts 8:36-37

5. One must be baptized in the name of Jesus.

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 2:38

6. One must live faithfully as a Christian.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
I Peter 2:9
